The Idea
This workshop is a space for music lovers to finally take a stab at songwriting or for current songwriters to play around.
I want to demystify songwriting to the extent it can be done AND, at the same time, bask in its mystery.
This is an invitation to deepen your relationship to music and to your own creativity in a super fun & chill environment.
We will explore songs and our souls from the inside and the out and this magical process will result in you writing your own original verse!
THE STRUCTURE
Part 1) Your Blooming Soul
I will outline my self-help songwriting process and then lead the group through a series of self-reflection prompts to connect you to yourself, your Blooming Soul, because that is the place where the music in us lives.
Part 2) Song Anatomy
We’ll get a bit technical but make it fun! Every participant brings a song they love, which we will dissect, analyze, and use for our purposes. You’ll see how a song you deeply connect to is built.
Part 3) Putting It All Together
You will walk away with one original verse of your own! Using the structure of the song you love and material from the Blooming Soul reflection prompts from part 1).
We open and close with grounding exercises and song.
