I grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, spent my 20’s in Stockholm, Sweden, and luckily/purposefully wound up on the sunny coast of Tuscany, Italy. Digging my hands into the sand everyday at sunset has become my new spiritual practice. My favorite poem is My Mind To Me A Kingdom Is by Sir Edward Dyer because it emphasizes that all we need for true bliss in this life resides in our own mind. If life’s not feeling so good, we might want to do some rearranging in there.
My love of songs turned into a need for self-expression through songwriting, which became a form of therapy for me. I came to understand my life in songs.
It’s taken me on a self-healing journey that as it progresses becomes less and less about healing and more and more about appreciation.
I believe that life should be more about enjoyment and appreciation than about constant improvement or “problem-solving”.
Appreciation is one of my favorite intentions behind celebration and I LOVE exploring all facets about the things (and people) you love and appreciate and what is beautiful about existence.
The days are long but the years are short. Life is so precious and the most precious days seem to go by even faster.
Music has this magical ability to freeze time. It’s a portal to every other moment you’ve ever heard that song.
I taught myself songwriting from nothing but the sheer necessity of expression.
A big part of my story is my friendship with Izzy Young. He was heavily involved with the folk music revival of the 60s and continued with his work until 2018. I knew him my whole life because he was friends with my parents and after I moved to Stockholm (where he lived from the 70s) he quickly went from family friend to best friend status.
